Gunesin Dogdugu Yer Plot Summary

The story of The Place Where the Sun Rises centers on Kenan Kozan, a member of the influential Kozan family of Çukurova. Kenan's life takes an unexpected turn when he travels to Germany and meets Leyla Breger, the woman who becomes the love of his life. Their meeting marks the beginning of a journey that eventually takes Kenan back to Adana. However, returning home means confronting the powerful family expectations that have shaped his life.

Kenan's mother, Celadet Kozan, has already planned a particular future for her son. But Kenan decides to follow his love instead of accepting the life that has been chosen for him. His decision creates tension within the Kozan family and changes the balance between family relationships, love, and power. As the story moves between Germany and the passionate and challenging world of Adana, Kenan must face the consequences of choosing love over family expectations.

The series explores how a single decision can affect an entire family, while bringing together themes of love, loyalty, family bonds, tradition, conflict, and power.

Two Worlds: Germany and Adana

One of the most distinctive elements of The Place Where the Sun Rises is its story spanning Germany and Adana. Kenan's journey begins in Germany, where he meets Leyla Breger. Their relationship becomes the turning point in his life and ultimately leads him back to his family's world in Adana.

The contrast between these two environments plays an important role in the story. Kenan finds himself caught between the life he wants and the responsibilities expected of him as a member of the Kozan family. His choice to follow love challenges the plans made by his family and sets the stage for conflicts involving relationships, family loyalty, and power.
